Beets Detroit Dark Red
A choice late variety, the tops making small upright growth, thus allowing planting in close rows, important where space is limited. Skin and flesh are deep red, tender, fine-grained and very sweet. This is a splendid variety for canning or for winter storage.
Young Detroit Dark Red beet tops make excellent greens either cooked or fresh which are used like Swiss Chard and can be grown all summer. Roots are 2 1/2 to 3 inches in diameter.
