Sugar Snap Peas Cascadia
These short vine plants are self-supporting but benefit from a trellis or cage to keep the masses of pods off the ground. Succulent 3 inch stringless pods with which walls sweeten as the peas start to form. Medium green in color.
The MOST versatile pea you'll ever grow! Harvest the pods early as snow peas, allow the pods to thicken for snap peas, or leave them to mature on the vine for shelling and drying. One of the best varieties for producing 'pea shoots'; cut the vines 3 inches above the ground and allow them to grow new shoots again!
Planting time - early spring and again in late summer for a fall crop. Peas prefer cool weather, but snap peas don't like the cold, wet soil of very early spring.
